As much as I adore The Two Towers, it was rather loud and brash and overdone. Fellowship is rather more subtle and has those beautiful little moments which I can't really explain. Maybe bits like the talk between Boromir and Aragorn in Lothlorien. Bits like that are more frequent and substantial in Fotr. TTT may have had some wonderful scenes, but it relied more on pumped up action scenes.
