I think that there will be a change in Pippins charicter in RotK too. Because even though Merry and Pippin don't have the rest of the fellowship they still have eachother to depend on. Then in RotK they get split up for the first time in the whole story. The only familar face Pippin has is Gandalf who dosn't seem familar because of his new wardrobe. Pippin has to stand on his own two feet in Gondor. And then as if to prove he has grown Pippin has to save Faramir.
