Sparrow has just left Hobbiton.

The Return of the King is one of the most operatic, dreary, tragic, emotionally exhausting, tear-worthy books I have ever read. The movie conveyed this overall aura very well with the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, the plight of Faramir and the Ride of the Rohirrim, but the saddest part of the movie for me was that I did not feel the same way I did at the end as I did when I finished the book. I felt happy like I do at the end of Disney movies.
[ 10:35 PM January 14, 2004: Message edited by: Sparrow ]
