I think that the 'Man Origin' theory throws a paticularly cool twist into the redemption question.
As far as I know, there is no judgement for Man in Tolkien's Myth. All that we know is that Man passes through the Halls of Mandos. There doesn't seem to be a reward or a punishment. If this is so, then there is no need for redemption.
