Yes, gollum wouldn't be a comic relief. It would be too hard to do that since he already has a split personality, i.e. slinker and stinker.<P>As for Treebeard, he might get a few misdirected laughs. Say if he interupts pippin or merry and says, 'Hoom, hmm! Come now! Not so hasty!' Some idiots might laugh at that.
