I... have NEVER cried at a movie. Never. Any movie. But LotR was the closest for me. The first time I saw it, my whole body was experiencing sensory overload. I almost cried during the scene as they all come out from Moria. Also, the scene where Sam almost drowns. And... gosh, all those close-ups of Frodo's expressions. Wood is one intense actor.
Laughing never is a problem. I loved the post-firecracker scene. It was kind of 3 Stooge-ish (the ear thing, I mean). I laughed at the "nobody tosses a dwarf," "not the beard," and "fool of a Took!" I cannot get over how much I am obsessed w/ this movie. I think it's unhealthy.
May your luck exceed the stench of your oxters.
