Aww, gee...

I'd like to take a teary-eyed moment to say most of the doctrine that's here is pretty cool. How encouraging. Yay for Jesus! It's kinda sad about McKellen, but, according to our own claims (which are way true ) then he's still God's creation, so some respect should be shown if it ever comes up.

Veering in a slightly less controversial direction ...

The actually characters in the book are somewhat religionless. This was Tolkien's intent. The main fault he found with traditional British folklore was that it was hopelessly intangled with Christianity. All the amalgamation of truth and fiction, Christianity and paganism irked him to the point of creating an entirely new reality, and an incredibly interesting one at that, I'm sure we'd all agree. Though I think some of Tolkien's perceptions about God come out in Iluvatar, the conception of him was to free the fact from folklore. Nothing, ya'll didn't already know, I'm sure...but I'm bored...

~ Elerrina ('Crowned with stars'; a name of Taniquetil; Only thing that wasn't taken) 'Many are the strange chances of the world,'said Mithrandir,'and help oft shall come from the hands of the weak when the Wise falter."
