This assumes that [BOLD]Morgoth[/BOLD] created the orcs as a species. I'm not too sure if Morgoth could create an independent thinking species without the Secret Fire - Aule definitely couldn't. If the Orcs were only a perversion of a species created by Eru, the species would originally have been created for the beauty of Arda; hence distinct sexes would not be inappropriate.
