And yes, I was trying to distinguish between Cahill's historical revision in terms of the Sea of Reeds versus Red Sea and its depth, as over against his surmise that the actual parting could never have happened therefore the Jews must have convinced themselves. Along the same lines, another theologian and bible scholar, N.T. Wright, argued through the likelihood of Jesus' resurrection, and being a 1st century specialist, knowing all he knows, and communicating it, his conclusion was that every explanation to the counter is insufficient, thus, inexplicably, the only reasonable conclusion is that the resurrection must have happened - so what if we don't know how?
