This subject is kinda easy.
First off you rarely hear the tearm goblin in the Lord of the Rings. But in the Hobbit it is used all the time and you don't hear the word orc. Maybe Tolkien wanted to make his fantasy seem different from others by giving the Goblins there own name of Orc. Goblins and orcs are EXACTLY the same thing. If you doubt this prove it.
