Collette collapsed upon her bed, heaving off her heavy pack and aimlessly throwing it to the floor.
She was dearly ready for a proper sleep, and the cushioned, feather-soft down of the mattress was already making her feel as though she could sink right through it into a dreamless oblivion, but the insomniac emerged from her partially-concious mind and kept her tossing and turning about, never able to be comfortable.
All she could think about was what to happen next....
She sighed wearily and rolled off the bed. It was too soft, and she was too used to sleeping on the hard ground, or beneath the trees, and the wood of the floor comforted her more than the soft matress, she turned over and dropped off to sleep.
