The first time I read lindil's quote 'only' went with Aman, rather than 'a short time'. Both 'in Aman' and 'for a short time' being prepositional phrases can be a little confusing. I read it like 'they could dwell only in Aman for a short time'. But now I see that it should be 'they could dwell in Aman for only a short time.

Thus even as Eru spoke to us shall beauty not before conceived be brought into Eä, and evil be good to have been.</p>
