Orual has just left Hobbiton.
Sting

Eruisto's eyes widened as Melisil sang. He was not very well-versed in the art of song, but he knew that Melisil had a beautiful voice. As her song continued, his eyes widened further. His mother had sung this song to him, when he was young, or a lesser version of it. But he remembered the last few lines, and sang them with Melisil.

He sang quietly, not truly wishing to be heard over Melisil, as he did not have much confidence in his ability to sing. His pleasant (though he did not think it) bass voice was not heard by many, but the few who did hear it thought it played nicely to Melisil's pure soprano. He smiled bashfully when Melisil finished, and tried to pretend that he hadn't been singing at all.

"You have a lovely voice," he commented, hoping that she hadn't noticed his joining in. "Do you sing often? We can talk as we walk."
