Birdie had finished her shower, feeling cleaner than she had since - well - since the party. Pio had lent her an Elven robe, of simple design, but it was by far the prettiest thing that Birdie had ever owned.

She was admiring herself in the glass on the wall of the cabin, turning this way and that, and standing on her toes in order to see as much of the robe as she could, when suddenly she heard the scream: "Rose!"

Gathering the skirt and running up on deck, she saw Pio Child, Sam and Frodo desperately leaning over the railing, searching the water and shouting "Rose!" Where are you?!" Then Pio dove over the side and swam down into the water.

"Oh, no. Not again". Birdie threw off the Elven robe and dived into the ocean after Rose and Pio.
