Maleficent panted. The effort of carrying the child from its bedchambers had nearly been beyond him. When he saw that it had come to pass as he had predicted and the child would be raised by True Wolves he felt the stirring in his heart that came whenever he played a direct role in history. So long as the child lived... He had faith in their strength. He must have faith in them. Arark, was he tired! He considered asking one of the Children of Acherene to take him to his destination, but it was no time to show his hand in this matter yet. He had to talk to Magda, for he needed deep sight to aid him.

He called for a trusted apprentice. He was tired and without food in his isolated hole. Hide he must however, for his involvement if discovered would breed dire dangers. Food he had not. So he called again for the crow. He had instructions for her.
