Kalia stroked Sorell's head as he yelled. She glared sternly at the doctor.
"Um, hello, that HURTS! Can't you remove things UNpainfully?" she asked as Thengise and Collette rushed to the window and yelled.
She glared at the doctor again and ran to see what was happening. A guard was dead on the floor, and Calad was now being carried by another.
"Calad! What happened? Bring him up here," she ordered the guard, looking sadly at Calad. "I thought I could trust Calad," she said to herself. "Serves me right. I should've kept better watch on him," she said, reproaching herself.
