Europe didn't look like M-E at all 9000 years ago, or anytime in the close geological past. If Tolkien wanted his Arda to be scientifically correct, he'd have placed his fantastic populations on a map of real Europe. So even if you're idea is good, Keeper, maybe he didn't meant it this way. Though quite realist, Tolkien's world is imaginary & mythic. BTW, haven't you noticed how much the contour of Mordor looks like the coastline of Turkey?
