Lord of Angmar has just left Hobbiton.
Sting

Actually it was Orlanod's second movie, but it was his first big role. I enjoyed his acting also, although I think Legolas's role could have been expanded and his personality be taken beyond that of a noble, cocky Elven Prince. I don't think he was trying to show off in any of those scenes, although Peter Jackson surely was trying to show him off . I think he just did those 'stunts' because he had the ability to do them and because they advanced the group cause, similar to in the books where he walks over the snow of Caradhras without falling through in order to scout for the Fellowship. The horse-jumping scene was one of my favorite for sheer excitement when I saw the movie in the theaters. Why make the horse stop to mount it when you face the onslaugh of a pack of wargs?
