Why do we not hear anything about the other Rings?

--The One, of course, is spoken of
--The Nine are held by the Ringwraiths, but seem to be mostly used to enhance their power
--The Seven are destroyed or captured by Sauron, and I got the feeling that they weren't the most powerful to begin with; they just served to give the Dark Lord more power, but no particular advantage directly related to them
--The Three have a passive, defensive magic relating to beauty and the preservation of all things pure. Therefore, they cannot be used in an overt, showy manner which would cause them to appear more in the story. They are the reason Rivendell, Lothlorien, and the Grey Havens still exist.

Did anyone see the posting on the Entmoot board where someone discovered that if you put the rings in order:
