Hmmm...I'm sure that was exactly what Saruman thought, Arvedui. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] I agree with those who say Grima didn't really know what the palantir was. However, I think he threw it for no better reason than that it added humor to the book. My sister and I think that is perhaps one of the funniest parts.
