The Fellowship of the Ring

Nine were needed,
to complete the quest,
so Elrond chose seven,
of the very best.

("two more we will need,
I'll pick from my house."
"But I want to go!"
cried micky the mouse.)*not really*

He planed for two elves,
to complete the mission,
but merry and pippin,
wouldn't bend to submission

Gandalf lead the group
that would destroy the ring.
Strider the ranger went along,
he was the exiled king.

Boromir went also,
but his bane was near.
Sam-the ringbearer's companion,
was often filled with fear

Gimli joined the company
and proved the dwarve's worth.
Legolas went for the elves--
a prince of noble birth

Merry was a jokester,
and pippin was his clone.
Before the quest was over,
they wished that they'd stayed home

Frodo was the ringbearer,
upon him all duties fell,
on the edge of a knife was the quest.
Up to this hobbit was all.

These nine left Rivendell,
on a day that wasn't so nice.
do you think they'll destroy the ring?
only this nine must suffice.
