To jump before Bethberry's, Turambar's and Rimbaud's er... thing, I sometimes feel sorry when people turn their ratings off, (Don't get me wrong, it's not really my business!) because sometimes I "find" somebody, whom I wish to rate 5 and then I find it's turned off. It would be (at least feel) rather stupid to send a PM just to say "I like your posts, I think you are intelligent and you're my greatest hero/ine" and probably also a bit annoying for the receiver, if I didn't put anything else in the PM.
