Actually I think it is Treebeard.

I've got one: "What is the house of Eorl but a thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek, and their brats roll on the floor among their dogs?"
Its from the book, and the page I'm on whoever is saying this is quoting someone. A) who's talking; and B) who is he/she/it quoting?
