Turin Turambar slew the great dragon Glaurung, and also brought the downfall of Nargothrond. Hurin (the greatest warrior of men) brought the downfall of Gondolin, but he and his people fought the last man to protect the elves of Gondolin that were withdrawing from the Battle of Unnumbereed tears. The list goes on and on!
