Deagol first came to my mind, who found the ring and lost it to a friend, but then pride and anger does not fit.

Maybe precious treasure is a silmaril or Naugrafarig, not the one ring? I'd have to think about this one.

Precious ONES... MAybe it signifies Feanor? But then, Morgoth Bauglir was his greatest enemy, so the last line doesn't fit.
