Am I the only one who's surroundings have more in common with Mordor?

I'm in Birmingham, UK, which was Tolkien's inspiration for the desecration of the Shire, having been the hotbed of the industrial revolution and heartland of the 'dark Satanic mills'. I must admit that it's improved a lot now and some parts of the centre are becoming Minas-Tirith-esque (even Bill Clinton backed it as next European City of Culture but we lost out to those damned Scousers).

I work in a 9-storey 1960s building which seems the embodiment of Lugburz or the 'Dark Tower'.
