The Eye

Yeesh. I've been on the BD forums for alost a year and I havn't done this. Here we go:
~~~~~~~
Name (that you go by):Kiwi (I'm serious. But I don't know how I got this
nickname)
Age: 16
Occupation: Student/Writer
Future Aspirations: Finish my book!
Goal in life: see above and get it published
Short term goals: Not to get mauled by bears
Passion: Anything to do with history/literature/Lord of the Rings/The Silmarillion/ect.
Hobbies:Reading, writing, the Downs, running, philology
Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself):I have recieved first prize in my region for Uber-Geekiness
Fave book: The Silmarillion
Fave movie: Dogma, Bandits, Lord of the Rings (not nesessarily in that order)
Fave sport: Stick fighting *What? That's not really a sport? Just me and my brother beating the tar out of each other with sticks? Well frankly, I am astounded*
Fave store: Any Bookstore
Fave music: Anything Good (I'm partial to Franz Ferdinand, Tool, and not to mention the soundtracks to LotR)
What you can't stand: Imbiciles and liars. If you're both, I cant stand you to the second power.
What you plain dislike: Lying Imbiciles
Who you admire: Anyone who does something worth admiring
What you most love to do: study obscure things
Your self-confessed flaws: I'm indecisive and I freeze under pressure
What intrigues/fascinates you: languages and the people and history behind them
What scares you: Not sure. Anything with more than four legs, I think, (Excepting Sliepnir)
Quotation to live by: "What is life but a story told only to you, the writer of the greatest tale? Then why not create a story worth remembering?"
Lhunardawen has been trapped in the Barrow!
Silmaril Did this more than a year ago...high time for a new one.
Name (that you go by): Abby; Lhunardawen and its derivatives to BDers; Mel to Nilp, my junior year English teacher, and senior year Econ teacher
Age: turned 16 just 4 days ago!!! or some thousand years (I was born in the Year of Lamentation, First Age 473)
Occupation: BDer, part-time striving soon-to-be college student, full-time striving Christian
Future Aspirations: receive my inheritance and live eternally!
Goal in life: to put a smile on His face
Short-term goals: (in chronological order) live through the nightmares of my birthday, survive the even worse horrors of the upcoming prom, become a Ghost Prince(ss) on or before my second deathday, graduate from high school with honors (requires an average of at least 1.500...guess I have to pass Physics and Calculus first), get into the only university I applied for and once again be Nilp's schoolmate
Hobbies: reading anything worth reading, thinking about nothing in particular until I confuse myself with so much thoughts, scribbling furiously in my notebook, crawling on the floor laughing guts out and having a heart attack (or COFLGOHAHA), cuddling my stuffed harp seal Patty and my stuffed iridescent bunny Squishy (with the participation of Nilp, who creates the sounds), gathering weird stares (only when I'm with Nilp), Downs-ing
Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself): baffling a few BDers with the man behind the *sheepish grin*, too much Aragorn-swooning in the CbC threads...soon to be transferred to Faramir *evil laughter*
Fave books: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (the manual of life and the greatest love story of all), Tolkien's works on Middle Earth, books by Joshua Harris and Barbara Johnson, Tom Clancy's Op-Center (his only book I've read so far...thanks once again to Nilp), the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer, The Little Prince by A. S. Exupery, ..., and my Biology textbook. Believe it or not. I also looove Calvin and Hobbes. Witty little kid...plus Hobbes looks a lot like my stuffed tiger.
Fave movies: LotR, The Matrix, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, Shrek 1 & 2, Kate and Leopold, Anger Management, the Star Wars series, 50 First Dates...
Fave sports: It depends. If I'm playing: volleyball, badminton, softball (I love playing catcher), and table tennis (this one's actually quite addictive). If I'm merely a spectator: still volleyball, gymnastics (though I wish I weren't merely a spectator ), and synchronized swimming (how they do this is still beyond me).
Fave stores: National Bookstore for school supplies, Powerbooks (because I get to sit comfortably while reading a book...and yes, this is a store.), Blue Magic (where I get to cuddle and converse with more stuffed toys, provided I don't get kicked out of the store), Gift Gate (and watch Nilp build a T4 bacteriophage out of Lego), Watson's (where I can be all girly...somehow)
Fave music: Contemporary Christian, anytime! And those recommended by my auditory nerves.
What you can't stand: flying cockroaches, high-pitched scratching sounds, cigarette smoke, car fresheners and other nausea-inducing odors
What you plain dislike: having to endure endless teasing, senseless teachers, being left out
Who you admire: Jesus Christ (who still deserves so much more than my admiration), my parents, some BDers (the mods, Nil, Helen, HI, Finwe, and symestreem, to name a few)
What you most love to do: my hobbies, debating with teachers to get extra points in tests *evil grin*. Respectfully, of course (or at least I try). *more evil grin*
Your self-confessed flaws: procrastination, cramming, lack of self-confidence, and the thing HerenIstarion once ranted about here
What intrigues/fascinates you: Genetics, Biotechnology, Astronomy, Dave Marley
What scares you: the unknown
Quotation to live by:
"In this life, your glasses belong to your nose. Take it from someone who knows." Patsy Clairmont, Normal is Just a Setting On Your Dryer
Additional comment: I wonder how many times I've mentioned the Scion of The Faithful in this post...
Encaitare is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
This information is available on a strictly need-to-know basis...and you need to know
Name (that you go by): I am required to put "Jamie" at the top of my test papers, although on things that are unlikely to be collected I must of course write Encaitare
Age: young enough to still be in high school; old enough to remember when there was actually music on MTV
Occupation: student
Future Aspirations: to be a published author, distinguished flautist, perhaps an illustrator as well; to learn Quenya, finish HoME; ... ah, hell, I just want to do everything!
Goal in life: to find true happiness
Short term goals: learn to play the piano/clarinet/guitar
Passion: dorkiness
Hobbies: music, cartooning, reading/writing
Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself): umm... I'm a pretty smart girl, I suppose. And I'm second chair flute in our wind ensemble. And I'm one of the few people in the school who can write in Tengwar -- the other being my best friend and co-dork.
Fave book: Guess. Go on, guess.
Fave movie: LotR, Ed Wood, the Matrix, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Tommy, Hero
Fave sport: what is this sport thing of which you speak? Actually, I play a mean badminton.
Fave store: Hot Topic, Spencers, Utopia
Fave music: the Who, Pink Floyd, Children of Bodom, Nightwish, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Beethoven, Pachelbel
What you can't stand: those who are intolerant/closed-minded; Jerry Falwell
What you plain dislike: seafood
Who you admire: all the great composers and musicians... I wish I could be like them someday
What you most love to do: play flute and piccolo until my lips fall off, and then go online for three hours; write angsty fanfiction; draw creepy pictures
Your self-confessed flaws: I'm arrogant and have a foul mouth. Not around here, of course. Also, I spend far too much time on the computer.
What intrigues/fascinates you: nature, various belief systems, death, morbidness. Great, now you all think I'm a freak.
What scares you: being totally alone.
Quotation to live by: "Dream as though you'll live forever; live as though you'll die tomorrow."
Additional Comments: I'm a Cancer with Scorpio rising, I resent dumb blonde jokes, I'm a raging Grima fangirl, and today is my one-year anniversary with my boyfriend! Yay!
Quotation to live by: someday you're going to die.
