Diamond18 is a guest of Tom Bombadil.

Keeping with the Witch-king, the fact that he thinks he is invincible because no man can kill him, but neglects to consider the loopholes and ends up being killed by a woman, is quite ironic.

The fact that an "insignificant" halfing (Frodo) accomplishes what great men and elves could not is another example of irony.

Also, in The Hobbit, I found it ironic that it is Bard of Lake-town who kills Smaug. One would assume (one did assume!) that the end of the story would come when Bilbo and the Dwarves confronted and defeated the Dragon. The Professor was too smart for this one, though.
