If I got to choose, I'd live in The Barrow Downs or the Old Forest because those are my favorite places in ME. I'd walk around with a sword at least in the Barrow Downs and never walk in the forest with an axe. Anyways, this brings me to my first choice of the available choices, which is hobbiton. Since hobbiton is so close to where I'd like to live, I'd live there. Also, it would be nice to live in the shire and visit The Green Dragon and the Prancing Pony and Bree are not to far off, so I'd find myself at the Prancing Pony a lot. My second choice of the available choices would be Moria.

I would also love to live in Moria back when the dwarves were there. The place looks so cool!! Rivendell might be my top pick though. It's just beautiful, and so relaxing. I could chill out with Erestor and Glorfindel, go hunting with Elrond's sons, and learn my history from Elrond himself (and while he wasn't looking, maybe spend some quality time with Arwen).

It would have to be either Hobbiton (for the very simple life), or Rivendell, it looks like a place that is so amazing, dreamy, wonderful, I could spend my whole life there.

Fangorn Forest without hesitation. I just Love the thought of such an old deep thick forest with memories of a time gone past. Besides i am a bit of a loner and could spend alot of time talking to the tree's. I guess i wish i was a shephard.

Either Lothlorien or Rivendell. In the location test I got Rivendell, then Lothlorien and Mirkwood. I *always* get elvish things on those kinds of tests. Except I got Aragorn once (raised in Rivendell) and Eowyn once (she just kicks arse).

Live? In one place? For a long period of time? I would rather just roam around. My favorite places to stop for a while though would be Lothlorien, Rivendell, Rohan, Gondor, and the Shire in that order.

I think Rivendell is getting crowded with elves and people the food's great, though. So I might settle in Dol Amroth because its near to the sea and good-looking men with elven blood roam there. hee hee

Rivendell, Lothlorien, or The Shire... in that order. Rivendell & Lothlorien because of the serenity, Elves, knowledge, Elves, & all-over peacefulness. And Elves. The Shire because it's peaceful & serene. It has rolling green hills & adorable little Hobbits. lol |

I want to live in Bree! I know in the movie it didn't look very nice, but in the book it sounds like a sort of meeting place where Hobbits, Men, Elves and Dwarves could rub elbows and enjoy a pint of Barliman's best together. "Bree was the chief village of the Bree-land ... The Men of Bree were brown-haired, broad and rather short, cheerful and independent: they belonged to nobody but themselves, but they were more friendly and familiar with Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves, and other inhabitants of the world about them than was (or is) usual with Big People. ... There wre also many families of Hobbits in the Bree-land ... The Big Folk and the Little Folk (as they called one another) were on friendly terms, minding their own affairs in their own ways, but both rightly regarding themselves as necessary parts of the Bree-folk. *Nowhere else in the world* was this peculiar (but excellent) arrangement to be found." To my way of thinking, Bree is like a Shire for Big Folk (and Little), with visits by Elves, Dwarves and Rangers to spice things up. What a great place to live! -Lily

I quite fancy Thranduil's place - the home of the Wood Elves in Northern Mirkwood. From what I read in The Hobbit, they have great parties, and if someone you don't like turns up, you just shut it down and move it someplace else.

Hi, Inderjit Sanghera! Well, it's certainly true no elves are seen in Bree in LotR, but I'm assuming they must occasionally go there as it states: "The Bree-folk, Big and Little, did not themselves travel much" If the Bree-folk rarely go anywhere, how can they be "more friendly and familiar with Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves ... than was (or is) usual with Big People", unless the Elves and Dwarves come to *them*? Maybe some Elves travel through Bree on the way to the Grey Havens. Or maybe they go slumming at the Prancing Pony with King Elessar when he's visiting Lake Evendim. Unless, of course, by "friendly and familiar" the Professor is saying that the rare Bree-folk that wandered outside Bree and came across an Elf would be more likely to pinch his bottom than your average Man would be. Cheers! -Lily

I myself would have to say woods of lothorien, the calm peacefulness that surrounds you and the gentel sweeping breeze that could leave you with the feeling for serenity all around. These woods are magical and are beautiful in land and nature.... not one could dream of such a place even in their most magical dreams sent from above.. Carry on the star from above for it will guide your heart from reckless toil.... Teluialwen |

i would live in khazud dum, the ancient home of my folk (i am 4 foot 10). it would be great- the halls would be wonderful, chiselled by the dwarves... it would just be too beautiful to describe. it would be better than rivendell, cos dwarves are better crafters. unfortunately, then the balrogwould come, and id havta move to erebor. then smaug would come and i would haavta become a wanderer
