Paths of the Dead
Does anyone have any advance information on whether the Paths of the Dead is in the third installment? I mean, there's been so many cuts already. If yes, will Elrond's twins and the rest of the Dunedain be there? Also, how will the Ghost Army be portrayed? Thanks.

I am pretty sure the paths of the dead was supposed to be in it. Im a magor spolier lookfore person. We'll have to wait to see what PJ's got up his sleeves to see the Dead army. Also the sons of Elrond are 99.9% sure are not going to be in it. It is clear that the movie is portraying Arwen as Elronds only child. I doubt the Dunedian will be thier either, Most likely if any others go it will be elves and Arwen. But I wouldn't be supprised if the Dunedian show up.

I agree. I have a movie production book that my wife picked up for me that talks about the Paths of the Dead, so at the very least they filmed the scenes. I also doubt we will see Elrond's sons or the Dunedain. If they were planning for either of these were to show up, I think they would have introduced their existence by now in at least the FoTR Special Edition.
H.C.

Yes, from what I've heard it is suppossed to be in the movie. Besides they wouldn't be able to get away with taking that out, I mean, they NEED that in it!!!
Actually we *have* seen the twins, who do you think those two younger looking Elves seated on either side of Elrond at the Council were? And even in the books the sudden appearance of the Grey Company is the first we see of other Rangers.
Nevertheless I am resigning myself to no Grey Company in RotK. Ah well, that's what fanfic is for.
Were those two really Elladan and Elrohir? Hm.. will have to go have a look at that... But anyways from what I've heard the paths will be in the movie... but the scouring of the shire won't...tottally irrelavant but I'm still quite upset about that as it is one of my favorite chapters. Oh well...
Well nobody actually says they are Elladan and Elrohir, but who else would they be? I think they may also have been the two Elf Men standing with Arwen as the Company leaves Rivendell.
Good call Morwen...I'd like to belive it was them though because otherwise I will have to suffice with no Elladan and Elrohir so I'll just go off and watch FotR for the 600th time living in an illusion BTW...Where in the name of the Valar is Arwen supposed to be going when she leaves Rivendell? The Havens? That makes no sense though becasue she has to obviously be there to marry Aragorn...hmmm... I wnder how PJ will work that one out?
I guess Peter Jackson will make her deviate from the path to the Havens to a place where she'll furiously start sewing Aragorn's bejeweled banner to be unfurled in The Return of the King!
How can there be no Dunedain? Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas are going to look quite ridiculous jumping off the black ship and charging Sauron's army all by themselves.
Or is it all going to get a bit Elvish?
I really hope to see Elladan and Elrohir and the other Rangers.
Hope the Paths of dead won't be too creapy?!
Perhaps PJ will make the Rohirrim and Theoden and Dernhelm/Eowyn and Merry all go through the Paths of the Dead too, then when they get to Gondor they'll fight the Witch-king. Sorry, I'm a little rusty, haven't read ROTK for a while.
I suppose one shouldn't completely give up hope for the Grey Company, but I am trying to harden myself to the likelihood of not seeing them.
As for where Arwen is going when she leaves Rivendell, I think we can count on it *not* being the Havens. There is some reason to think she's had Narsil reforged and will bring it to Aragorn in RotK.
It is almost certain she is going to show up by his side at some point, but what she'll do then is anybody's guess, though a catfight with Eowyn seems unlikely. And I understand we have Ian McKellans' word that she doesn't do *any* fighting, which is a relief.
