What's with a bean clue? I tried both a synonym for the bean and the type of bean, and none of the locations incorporates any letters of that.....
I'm lost, and nobody else seems to be around, so (unless you think that they will come back) could you give some hints, please?
Try the easy ones, the first L and the E
I have, but can't make sense of them either. Garlic is clove, but no place there contains clove. And I've searched for anything shared by three names listed, and found nothing.
I found 'church leaders'.
The only one I could think of for E clue is CELEBRANT, based on the fact that a get together is a party i.e CELEBRATION.
And the closest I could come to L clue is NIMRODEL. (IDLER+??)
A pity there's no RIVERDALE, because you can make that from IDLER + AIL + REV.

I only found the name GEORGE.
LANGWELL for 4 (There is James Whitney, James Washington, James Hood and James Langwell)
The only commonality I can find between Washington, Whitney and Hood is that they're the names of peaks (in America)- perhaps the one that was left out is the LONELY MOUNTAIN?
Edit: x'd with Urwen. Uh- who are those people? |
There are politicians with those three surnames, but I tried subtracting IT from politician/s and couldn't come up with anything.
Sorry ... should have read the end of Nerwen's post!

People I've found with Google. |
LONELY MOUNTAIN it is

Still can't find anything for the E clue, unless it's EGLADIL?
And could we get some hints for other clues too?
C'mon- what is famously slow, and also famously cooked with garlic?
Also, you have the password, but not exactly the theme, which would help

Snails?

Isn't the theme places in Rhovanion?
Okay, Escargot is cooked with garlic, but how do 'church leaders' factor in?
Maybe the theme is 'Route of Thorin and company' or 'Places in the Hobbit' (as in, the book)
Esgaroth?
Exchange the c for the h for 'switch church leaders?' Oh - switch the letter leading/heading the WORD. I've never watched Game of Thrones, but I know Sean Bean's character dies in it, and I *have* heard of the original meaning of decimation. Was his character executed because they executed every tenth man? |

So we won't be getting any hints for the harder ones?
I can't see how the manors of a Roman family can be anything but VILLAS, but the only names containing that word are SACKVILLE and (of course) SACKVILLE-BAGGINS.
Unless it's GREAT SMIALS, a sort of manor house in the Shire, with 'Great' being noble degree and 'Smials' being dwellings ... all owned by the Thain.
You forget the letters N and D, from noble degree.
Roman and Halls are not linked
Guess we won't be getting any further hints, then.
Second L clue: Elvenking's Halls?
Also please confirm/deny my theme guess, thank you.
