So #5 CAT?

Pervinca Took 12-17-2021 02:29 PM

Bien fait!

Yes, but you need the 'he.'

Urwen 12-18-2021 01:02 PM

Little dog?

Pervinca Took 12-18-2021 08:25 PM

Yes.

Can you give me a slang word for dog?

Urwen 12-19-2021 08:39 AM

In which slang?

Pervinca Took 12-19-2021 09:25 AM

English slang.

Think of Dastardly and ****ley. :D

Urwen 12-19-2021 09:39 AM

There's no 'maybe' about it.

Urwen 12-21-2021 03:27 AM

Oliphaunts for the last one?

Pervinca Took 12-21-2021 12:13 PM

No. N is the second letter.

That's what's meant by the fox being the only one 'not on secondment.'

Urwen 12-25-2021 05:51 AM

Ah. Snails?

And over to Urwen!

Urwen 01-06-2022 05:32 AM

Well, a quick one, maybe

1. A monetary expression, or a Weasley, for him.
2. Bugs, synonymously, for them.
3. Aredhel, minus two directions (at tail), produces this
4. Consume (in a swirl), or drink this.
5. Steed of the unfortunate, or a bothersome insect, rearranged.

Pervinca Took 01-06-2022 07:07 AM

1. Bill.
4. Tea (from 'eat').

2. Spies? Midges? Neekerbreekers?

Urwen 01-06-2022 07:46 AM

BILL: A monetary expression, or a Weasley, for him.
2. Bugs, synonymously, for them.
3. Aredhel, minus two directions (at tail), produces this
TEA: Consume (in a swirl), or drink this.
5. Steed of the unfortunate, or a bothersome insect, rearranged.

No to the rest. Most of the clues are related to real life things.

Pervinca Took 01-07-2022 12:06 PM

2. Ants /Aunts?

5. Hasufel? (Well, it has 'flea' in it).

Urwen 01-07-2022 02:22 PM

What's another word for 'bugs'?

Pervinca Took 01-07-2022 02:47 PM

Insects.

Urwen 01-09-2022 08:27 AM

BILL: A monetary expression, or a Weasley, for him.
INSECTS: Bugs, synonymously, for them.
3. Verb, initially, and pertaining to mouth. It's all muddled for them.
TEA: Consume (in a swirl), or drink this.
5. Steed of the unfortunate, or a bothersome insect, rearranged.

Yes, also clue 3 was wrong, so I changed it.

Galadriel55 01-09-2022 11:14 AM

3. V + oral = olvar

Pervinca Took 01-10-2022 06:25 AM

5. Snowmane?

Biots for the password, apparently meaning feathers?

Urwen 01-11-2022 05:55 AM

BILL: A monetary expression, or a Weasley, for him.
INSECTS: Bugs, synonymously, for them.
OLVAR: Verb, initially, and pertaining to mouth. It's all muddled for them.
TEA: Consume (in a swirl), or drink this.
5. Steed of the unfortunate, or a bothersome insect, rearranged.

Not Biots, but close by one letter.

Pervinca Took 01-11-2022 06:14 PM

BIOTA?

'The animal and plant life of a particular region.'

ARROCH for the steed? (ROACH + R).

Pervinca Took 01-26-2022 07:20 AM

Urwen?

Urwen 02-14-2022 04:35 AM

BILL: A monetary expression, or a Weasley, for him.
INSECTS: Bugs, synonymously, for them.
OLVAR: Verb, initially, and pertaining to mouth. It's all muddled for them.
TEA: Consume (in a swirl), or drink this.
ARROCH: Steed of the unfortunate, or a bothersome insect, rearranged.

There we go.

Pervinca Took 02-16-2022 06:02 PM

Here we go, then:

1. Shoe loses two pronouns, we 'ear, to reveal it. (4)
2. He describes what a bad rider did, with a pencil top in the exact middle? (2)
3. Elemental trochee reveals him. (4)
4. Illuminated anapaest - see him! (3)
5. Caviar and chicken mingle with a wherefore and lose their way for him? (4)
6. A German dwelling, a fricative, a note and a liquid unite. One of them slightly mingles for him. (6)
7. Mixed up lady in an inverted lens - dehydrated? See him! (1)

Huinesoron 02-17-2022 05:48 AM

It's been a while, but I'm gonna pretend my brain is functioning again...

#5: Roe + hen + y, -... well, either an R, E, or N for a direction. It comes quite close to making ROHERYN, losing the E, but then "a wherefore" needs to be RY / YR, which I can't quite make fit. Also, (4) wouldn't indicate either the spelling or the book/chapter he's in (though could be 'what was the last Age he lived in), and, er... I don't know that Roheryn is even a male horse. :D
