Shield The Two Towers

I was wondering, the title of The Two Towers, is that after Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul or Barad Dur and Orthanc?
I think Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul because Minas Tirith is attacked in the book and Frodo needs to pass past Minas Morgul. The book is also a big deal about Orthanc but scarcely about Barad Dur.

I think that it's Barad-dur/Cirith Ungol and Orthanc, because in Mordor and Isengard is where the action lies in TTT. Gandalf and Pippin don't even reach Minas Tirith until RotK, and the battle there takes place after they get there.

I'm sure there's another thread on this topic, you could search for it.

I read somewhere that Tolkien himself didn't know why it was called The Two Towers, and that he found it an unsatifactory title, but had to stick with it. Apart from that I don't know.

It is not Baradûr and Orthanc, although it is mentioned in the trailer. It is Cirith Ungol and Orthanc, because that is were all the action takes places. As stated above, it says so in the books.
