A goodly hawk was about to fall to a vile enchantress! And Gawaine killed a plethora of women anyway, or at least according to those verminous Frenchmen...

My Gawain is middle English, thank you. As I'm sure you're well aware, the perfidious French maligned the greatest and most noble of Arthur's knights, in order to big up their poncey usurper Prancalot.

I commend to you Gawain and the Lady Ragnell, which shows him in his true colours.

You've forced me into a devil's advocate position. I've absolutely no wish to defame Gawain. I'm retreating while I can still, ah, avoid my horse and feutre my spear passing well.

Actually, I like the Malory Gawain. He essentially shines despite the amount of libel chucked at him. And the Orkney-de Galles feud is like the best of Greek tragedies. How often I've wished Shakespeare could have written it...Macbeth, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet meet...

The solution seems simple, Ang.

Call back the hounds! Save Belladonna before it's too late!

I refuse to accept any contradiction between my admiration for Gawain and my desire for vengeance.

Besides, I'd like to see you call off a pack of hungry Wargs!

Now, the god Tyr placed his hand in the mouth of the most evil warg the world has ever seen, the Fenris Wolf, while it was being chained. He lost his hand, but the beast was conquered.
Surely his near-namesake Tuor could ward off a few wargs on the downs.

Anguirel doesn't care about the Warg Rider, though. He's just sulking about Gwahir. I think he's a Smaugie. Or possibly an Elronder.

You might find yourself rueing calling in the hounds before too long, Ang, when they devour your own favoured contestant(s). I have a feeling that the Chief Warg is not your pick for winner.

Wargs have a tendency to bite the hand that feeds them, as you may well find out, having yourself quite possibly bitten off more than you can chew.

I would much prefer witnessing the Chief Warg's Faustian victory than allowing Belladonna's existence to be prolonged by another day.

Besides, for all you know my favoured candidate is down and I'm only in to make trouble...

Adieu, good Belladonna. You have served your purpose well. Many a troublesome contender has fallen at your defenders' hands.

Now, how to thwart the Warglet horde and dispose of their figurehead ...?

Good luck! While no major warg fan I respect their determination and pledge my support to their cause for them helping me rid this survivor of another nasty Took. Yes I understand they did it to save the warg and not for the Took aspect but help was appreciated all the same.

Well, I'll close up shop early.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After many Days and many attempts to be rid of her, Belladonna Took was finally voted out. "You're to friendly with Gandalf for one. You're the mother of Bilbo and you're a Took! You HAVE to go!!" The voting at tribal council that night was rather unanimous with the few odd votes for the Chief Warg:

Belladonna - 12
Warg - 6

Being distraught, Belladonna arose and ran into the forest. She ran and ran, not knowing where she was going. She ended up falling into snake den. Did I forget to mention that they were poisonous?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Contestants voted out:
Bofur
Ori
Durin (The first King Under the Mountain)
Nori
Fundin
Gandalf
Nain (father of Dain)
Bungo Bagins
Chief of Guards
Thorin
Bilbo
Golfimbul
Carc
Gollum
The Master
Dwalin
Bifur
Great Goblin
Bard
Azog
Oin
Dain
Necromancer
Old Took
Bert
Galion (Elvenking's Butler)
Girion
Thror (grandsire of Thorin)
Bolg
Elvenking
Thrain (father of Thorin)
Beorn
Dori
Balin
Kili
Tom
Roac
Eagle Lord
Belladonna Took

The remaining contestants:

The Remainder of the Messed Up Fellowship
Bombur
Fili
Gloin
Chief Warg
Smaug
William
Elrond
Bullroarer (Bilbo's great ancestor)

Day 35 with eight more contestants. GO!!

Boots A slight error

I have reviewed my spreadsheets and see that I made a .2456 error in column 7 which aggregated in an astronomical fashion until it threw my calculations off by a whole contestant spot. In spite of mormegil’s hasty vote, Bullroarer Took is going to win. It is easy to see how the error occurred. Simple rounding error threw the calculation from one B. Took to another B. Took. Minor mix up.

And I see no point in not charging right into the heart of the opposition so,

I said I'd whittle Dwarves after the feud was over.

Though I am tempted to see an attack on the tedious Bullroarer as an extension of that feud, I will hold to that affirmation.

Ask not what a hobbit can do for you, but what you can do for a hobbit!

So cruel to want this gentle giant among hobbits voted off. In hobbit fashion, he extends all hospitality to his tribe and during the challenges his fighting spirit erupts so that his tribe can have benefit of rewards and immunity!
I don't expect Mormegil to understand this many facetted person since Morm has an unnatural dislike of Bilbo and all who are related.
Don't vote for the Bullroarer who is neither evil (we have plenty of those), dwarve(plenty of those, too), or worse an annoying elf!

It is no wonder that those who love the Wargs hate the Bullroarer. He after all fought off a Wolf raid during the Long Winter.
I think I know of another reason why the Warg lovers hate hobbits in general and Bullroarer in particular. Look at what Gandalf has to say about hobbits with reference to the Long Winter:
Quote:
I began to have a warm place in my heart for them in the Long Winter, which none of you can remember. They were very hard put to it then: one of the worst pinches they have been in, dying of cold, and starving in the dreadful dearth that followed. But that was the time to see their courage, and their pity one for another. It was by their pity as much as by their tough uncomplaining courage that they survived.
In the reign of Bullroarer, amidst this great hardship, there flowered a society based on compassion, co-operation and helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
Wargs of course represent the opposite - a society based on greed and power-worship; a ruthless, dog-eat-dog, devil-take-the-hindermost philosophy.

But it's actually even scarier than that.
The wise Norsemen predicted, in their own version of the Armageddon, the Voluspa,(much loved by Tolkien) the last age before the end of the world. A society much like the one I portrayed above, when oaths were broken and brother killed brother. "Varg-old", they called it, the "Warg Age."

Is that what you all want? To bring about the end of the world? Then by all means vote to support your wolfish friend. For my part, however, I'd like our planet to soldier on a little longer.

But this is Survivor, Lalaith. We're in Hobbes' savage state of nature! Altruism is a deficit!

It's vital that after the rotund one is gone, we vote the last Hobbit off. Who knows what his "pity" might lead to? He'll probably give all the remaining rations away to a passing tapir with a wounded toe...

Such brainwashing would make Stalin proud! How the devious Baggins has poisoned so many minds. It was he who, more than anyone else, promoted this myth of evil Wargs. The Wargs are not evil; rather they are alone in a world which despises them.

To be wrong is one thing; to carry out the disgusting prejudices of the Hobbit is another.

Shield

Of course the Chief Warg is not cute! He is mighty and dangerous; bold and fearless. But not cute.

In much the same way as God is not cute.

He is not a tame Warg...

Aye, for now it can be revealed! A Slan and the Chief Warg are one and the same!

Hobbes, like so many other great philosophers, has been much quoted out of context. He believed in the social contract. It was only when the bonds of social obligation were removed that life became "nasty, brutish and short."

This is what the wargs want.

I know that's what Hobbes said. My point is, the bonds of social obligation have been removed! Where is the state of nature if not on the Survivor Island?

And A Slan, the great antilion, is a parody of Aslan who takes part in the Assigned to Mordor RP. I'm afraid I rather stretched that quip...

Do you now doubt, unbelievers, that the Apocalypse is nigh? Behold, we are invited to worship the Beast.
Turn, repent, before it is too late!
