I may be able to pull off this bluff though it's coming close each day.

I strongly suspect that you are not alone in this belief. Hence my vote for him. If nothing else, it may help to flush out those who support him.

There are enough people gunning for her and enough supporting alternative candidates to ensure her exit before we are down to the final three.

So why not try flushing out who is supporting who? It would be nice to have a day where the voting is spread and there are more than just two candidates for the chop.

Incidentally, aren't unreasoned votes subject to being discounted?

Yes but they have been reasoned previously and I feel that that is sufficient.

I am not holding out much hope for Belladonna, but I will not actively vote against her unless I have to. In the meantime, I am happy for you folks to continue your vendetta against her on the basis that it diverts attention away from other, more valued (by me), contestants.

I really don't see how anyone who knows their Tolkien can deny that the Tooks are anything but an exceptional and outstanding strain of Hobbitkind. Their adventurous and curious nature makes them by far the most interesting of all the great Hobbit families. It was down to Belladonna that Bilbo harboured his latent adventurous side. But for her, the Quest of Erebor would have been a disaster. But, seeing as you so actively dislike the incredible little fellow central to the tale that gave rise to this show, I wouldn't expect you to understand that ...

While I don't expect or even necessarily want her to win, I think she's worth saving for awhile in the same sense I voted for dwarves-to thin out. There are plenty of males in various races/species for ones own choosing. I shall keep thinning out males until the ratio is a bit better, afterall, 1:4(or5) is better than 1:46.

That is because you are reflexively and unthinkingly voting for the same character over and over and over again. Of course that is going to be dull! You want the game to be interesting? Inject some variety into your play. Otherwise, don’t come crying to the rest of us.

Two can play the double bluff game. Or triple. Or quadruple. But honestly, William isn't any fun since Bert and Tom left. He's sitting alone on a rock crying. If he keeps it up, he's going to wear channels in his face.

Belladonna voted off now is a tactical error, people. While she's still around, and under threat, it's possible to set off all sorts of stalking horses and get them voted off by those seeking to protect her.

Current state of play:
Gwahir 4
Bella 4
William 1
Warg 1
Bombur 1

Now, I'd rather not vote for Gwahir unless I have to. I find Bombur rather tiresome but I did say to Kuru I wouldn't vote against dwarves and I shall honour that promise while I still can. And it's my opinion that there are too many baddies heading for the final. I think we should whittle them down to one or two, so I'd be happy to go for either William or Warg, although they're looking like wasted votes at the moment.
Personally, I think Smaug has a lot of secret fans and will win this. Anyone who supports another candidate should think quite carefully now.

Well, I'd much rather vote against a baddie myself. However, the Eagle Lord does have to go at some point. Today seems to be the day he's getting the votes.

Tell you what, tomorrow I'll do my best to vote off a villainous villain of your choice.

I completely agree with you about Smaug, by the way.

Some people think it's boring?

Well, the fact that half the voting population has been stuck in a Belladonna Goes trend might have something to do with that...

Tell you what: let us kill off Belladonna, and things will get more interesting as the Anti-Belladonna Alliance collapses. Who knows, I "might" even vote on the same side as Kuruharan, SPM, or Anguirel...

Oh, and Celuien, I think we're going to need your Belladonna vote again...

Indeed.... one might almost call the Anti-Belladonna League an Unholy Alliance.

Personally, I would call Gwaihir one of my preferable candidates left, as of now, since he is neither a person favourite (such as Elrond) who would normally attract my rather ironic attention during a game, nor is he a loathsome beast... like William or the Warg.

However, if he dies, he dies.... Unlike "certain" people (I won't name names... except for Lalaith's ), I'm more than willing to see my favourites go by the wayside and rot.

++Belladonna

Come on, we need to save the Eagle! And plus, Belladonna's supposed to be dead anyway.

I'm going to extend today to 10:30 so we can stay on track until the final.

Wow interesting day. It seems like we have two candidates, one of which will have to leave of coures...hmmm, who to chose.

++Gwaihir

Because...

1) Friend of Gandalf. Even if Gandalf is off the island we can't have any of his friends hanging around either. Gandalf is like the mob boss, he's got connections everywhere, and we got to weed out those connections. Which includes Gwaihir.

2) What's this crap about Eagles not being able to carry Frodo (or anyone) to Mount Doom. I mean they all claim that they get tired, and they can't carry people farther then a certain point, but Gwaihir only says in The Field of Cormallen
Quote:
"I would bear ye," answered Gwaihir, "whither you will, even were you made of stone."
It seems to me the Eagles create this excuse just so they don't have to carry someone for a long distance, but in truth it was all a lie and Gwaihir proves it here.

3) With the Super Bowl approaching I still need to figure out what I want to eat and Spawn's picture of Gwaihir is quite appetizing. I've never had Eagle before.

Sure you have. There were Eagles in the Super Bowl last year. They weren't very appetizing at all. They're even less appetizing now. Why not give Gwaihir another chance? He might be tastier later on.

Oui, I show up in the most crucial points so my hidden agenda is never discovered. (Well also because a lack of time). Believe me or not, I don't want Belladonna to win, you already know one of my intentions which is to weed out all of Gandalf's deep web of connections.

Though I could hold off on Gwaihir and get rid of Belladonna since it will be no consequence to me, if thou shalt give me a good reason as to why it would be wise for me to do so. Bottomline is Belladonna will probably be gone in a few days, so she makes a weak opponent and one that can easily be cast off in the next few days so why get rid of her now?
