My favorite chapter in the Silmirillion was "Of Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin"

For The Lord of the Rings I would choose "The Council of Elrond."

I'm not sure if this is technically allowed, but rather tahn torture myself with the decision, I'm going to divide LOTR into the six "books". This will make it a whole lot easier to choose.

The Hobbit: A Thief in the Night or Inside Information

FOTR:

Book One: A Conspiracy Unmasked (I just like that chapter. It's a hard decision, though.) or Strider

Book Two: The Breaking of the Fellowship

TTT:

Book Three: Helm's Deep or Flotsam and Jetsam

Book Four: The Choices of Master Samwise or Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit

ROTK:

Book Five: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields (the best) or Minas Tirith or the Houses of Healing or...

Book Six: The Grey Havens or The Tower of Cirith Ungol

The Silmarillion: Of Beren and Luthien (Definately!) or Of Turin Turambar

Out of the entire Lord of the Rings:
Probably the Battle of Pelennor Fields, my all-time favorite chapter

Out of all of Tolkien: Most likely Beren and Luthien

As you can see, I'm not very good at making decisions.
