Sting Lament of Gandalf

I bought the FOTR soundtrack for my sister for Christmas. Included was the lyrics for the lament of Gandalf, when the elves of Lothlorien sing for Gandalf. In the book, Legolas is asked to translate the words, but won't, becuase his grief is too great. And Peter Jackson presumes to translate where Legolas would not. I guess I'm weird to let that bother me. How about you?

Personaly I wouldn't try to intreprate anything like that. It seems to me that that was a sort of private grieving thing and that some things seem to be best left alone. But I guess I would have to hear the song or at least read the lyrics to see if I think it be worthy.

Sting

yea but the thing is, if you know what happens in the second book The Two Towers then it just makes sense. Why not translate the song? There is a difference between a character in a book/movie that interacts with other characters and a reader/audience.
