What would have happened..........Moria - The Barrow-Downs Discussion Forum

I was reading the book a few days ago, and I came to the conclusion that Gandalf the White was more powerful than Gandalf the Grey, which got me thinking. If the Fellowship didn't go through Moria, and took the Gap of Rohan instead or so, what would the rest of the story be like?
