Tolkien Wow...

Have we discussed just about everything there is to discuss about Tolkien or what?

Here's another, though:
Is anyone on here a subscriber to Vinyar Tengwar? I hear they get language-related Tolkien materials that nobody else gets. Is there any chance we could see some of that stuff?

I do not subscribe though I intend to back order select issues and perhaps subscribe going forward. However, some topics addressed in VT are raised here. VT sometimes gets access to unpublished fragments and essays which did not "fit" in HoME (I am not envious, I am not envious...). These are occaisionally published and analysed. Some are discussed in The Silmarillion Canon thread. One is JRRT's "Osanwe-Kenta" essay. Another is notes on the Eldar.

Yeah, I was planning on subscribing, but I'm gonna learn more about the different languages before I start.

Though this probably belongs elsewhere on the Downs, I think it applies somewhat to this thread. Here's an interesting site with compiled archives of what must be a mailing list of some kind. The Tolkien Language List. http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/misc/local/TolkLang/ .
