R is for Ring of Isengard which was the ring of mountain surrounding the tower or Orthanc. The Ents tore into this, which would make it quite the tourism site in later ages.

And people, provide a description of the item/person/place when you post. Those are the rules.

S is for Silmarils-the jewels that Feanor made in which the light of the Two Trees of Valinor was imprisoned.

U is for Udûn a deep circular valley ringed by sheer black barren cliffs with two passes, Cirith Gorgor to the North and Isenmouthe to the South. It's interesting to not the name Udûn means Hell as well as the name for this valley.
