Ah, J...J that infernal J! The obvious choice is, of course J.J.R Tolkien (there seem to be only three J things to use anyway).

He is THE King of all things Arda related.

P is for Ar-Pharazôn, twenty-forth and last king of Númenor He "defeated" Sauron and brought him back to Númenor (not bright) where Sauron had his way. Ar-Phar. persecuted the faithful, cut down down Nimloth, and worshiped Melkor through human sacrifice. Then he tried to attack Valinor. He was asking for it, and he got it. Númenor was subsequently destroyed.

W is for Walda.
Quote:
Walda ~ From 2842 - 2851 Third Age, the twelfth King of Rohan, third of the Second Line of the Mark. He had been King only nine years when he was trapped and slain by Orcs in the mountains near Dunharrow. His son Folca mounted a great campaign against the Orcs and succeeded in driving them from the Mark.
The Tolkien Companion pg. 509

Poor Walda. If I had his name I'd want to be trapped and slain by Orcs!

Quote:
D is for Dol Guldur 'The Hill of Darkness' (Sind.) For nearly two thousand years this evil fortress was the most feared place in Middle-earth, save only Mordor itself.
Built in the early years of the Third Age upon a stony height in the southern fastness of Greenwood the Great, Dol Guldur soon acquired a fearsome reputation. Dark clouds hung over it and evil beasts began to terrorize the forest, which was then renamed Mirkwood. The Council of the Wise (the Wizards and the Chief Eldar) assumed that one of the Ringwraiths had occupied it; even then they did not dream that Sauron was taking shape once again.

For it was the Lord of the Rings himself that had settled in Dol Guldur. To prevent his enemies striking before his own power was fully reborn, he carefully concealed his identity, so the people of the Forest knew the Power of Dol Guldur only as 'the Necromancer.' In 2063 Third Age, increasingly perturbed at the growth of evil in southern Mirkwood, Gandalf the Grey secretly entered the Tower; but Sauron managed to retreat into the East without revealing himself. Nearly eight-hundred years later the Wizard again entered Dol Guldur: this time he found the dying Dwarf Thrain in the dungeons, and discovered that the Necromancer was indeed Sauron.

Gandalf subsequently summoned the White Council and strongly urged an attack on the fortress. But, swayed by the arguments of Saruman the White (who wished only to further his own purposes), they did nothing. By this time the Necromancer's plans were nearly complete. So, in 2941, when the White Council finally agreed to attack, Sauron simply withdrew and soon openly declared himself in Mordor. The Nazgul then occupied the Tower, and it remained a place of great fear until the Elves of Lorien finally overthrew the fortress at the very end of the Third Age.
The Tolkien Companion pg. 105 - 106

I apologize for the lengthyness of my post. I couldn't bear to write a one-liner for a Tower so evil (and cool!)

I dunno why no one has posted this! It's the most obvious one...

M is for Morgoth, an Ainu with a serious desire-to-destroy-everything complex.

He original name was Melkor and he was also called Belegurth, Morgoth Bauglir, Foe of the Valar, the Enemy, the Great Enemy, the Dark King, the Dark Lord, the Lord of the Dark, the Dark Power of the North, the Evil of the North, the Black Hand, the Master of Lies, the Hunter and the Rider, the Lord of the Darkness, the Lord of All, the Giver of Freedom, and the King of the World.

Even Aragorn can't beat that.

S is for Shelob the Great, Last Child of Ungoliant. I just love the way that sounds...

Shelob was a gigantic spider who made her lair in the Ephel Duath, by the Tower of Cirith Ungol (named after her!). She fed on Orcs, and tried to eat Frodo. She was wounded badly by Samwise the Brave, and that is the last we hear of her. Her life or death remains a mystery. (Oooooo).
