Silmaril Fan Fiction redesigned

Hi everyone,

I've redesigned the FAN FICTION section. It may seem a little confusing at first, but once you get used to it I think you'll like it. New features include:

Reviews - You can now leave a note telling what you thought of each story. And you can read other people's reviews!
Sort by Date - See the newest stories listed on top of.
Sort by Author - See stories by a specific author.
Sort by Quality - See stories listed in order of best to worst (though they are all good, of course!)

Upcoming Features:
Search
Sort by Category
Sort by (Time) Period
Sort by Reviews

Look for these features soon.

Hope you enjoy!

Several people have complained at the new layout. Is it just because of the change, or is the layout just a real pain? It seems easy enough to me.

If you have any suggestion of how the layout could be improved, I'd like to hear them.

Thanks,

I think the new layout is generally fine. Perhaps a better explanation of how to search by author, etc. might be helpful. The only issue I see is that serial fictions are separated, but that is solved by searching by author. I like the review function, which allows the authors to receive feedback (if anyone uses it).

I have re-redesigned the fan fic section to make it more like it was before but retaining all the new features. Hope you all enjoy. Be sure to review those stories you like (or hate) !

Great job, Your Wightiness! Now I can tell if people like my stories! (if only they'd just be reviewed...)!

Hope I found a good spot for this post. I've been having a wonderful time reading through many of the Books topics, and in so doing saw a fan fiction recommendation for Mithadan's 'Tales From Tol Eressea'. The link to the first story on the fan fiction page:
http://www.barrowdowns.com/fanficred...html&Story=191

appears to be broken, though the links to the following three are fine.

Synchronicity at work: I opened a separate browser window to check URLs for the post and the top banner ad was for this very story. *grin* That link:
http://www.barrowdowns.com/FanFicEressea.asp

works so I will get to read the story, no waiting.

Still, thought you might like to know about the broken link. Sorry to post this after all of the hard work that must have gone into this page, Barrow-Wight - the layout and functionality seem quite nice to me.

This site is wonderful! Hmm, it's a rainy weekend. I can tell what I'm going to be up to for awhile...
