I'm getting to be that way, too. One must wonder which group of friends is more "real". Is it the Downies because we share more interests, or the people that we see face-to-face, simply because we interact with them personally? I seem to regard some of the Downers as my friends, even though I don't really know them personally. I wonder if this is wrong? (Don't you wish there was a thoughtful graemlin?)

When I got bored in class, I always got out pretty coloured pens and wrote, "Spook the spook of spookish spookdom to spook the spooked spookers." That was Rynoah the Overly Happy's siggy. I thought that was one of the coolest signatures (although I never fully understood it...hehe.) I haven't seen Rynoah here in a while, though! [img]smilies/confused.gif[/img]

And we know we're obssessed with this thread when we come to it every day, and because we're onto version three. May this thread never die!

During my Spanish class today, my teacher was doing division of syllables, and he put up the word "lagrima" which means "tear" (I think). I took one look at it, and started cracking up. "La Grima" would mean "The Grima," and not only that, "The (implied female) Grima." I got weird looks from everyone, and had to explain it.

you spend your class time writing ideas for this thread...on your hand and arms

you type on your calculater: in elvish, all the dialogue from the rotk trailor and people's siggies.

you are late to class because you had to do your hair elvish-ish today, because TTT comes out on DVD/VHS

your friend (who doesn't even like lotr) notices your hair and tells you, you look very elvish today... you take that as a great compliment.

I was cleaning up backstage in my schools theatre and my friend came up and handed me a gold ring on a silver chain and said "I found this and it reminds me of you", I was so happy, It was one of my many different one ring necklaces and I must have left it in theatre when changing into a costume last year [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

your food goes cold because you had so many things to write on this thread and you had to do it before anything else

(side note: this girl in my class had arwens pendant!! so cool)

-When you take a fork out of the drawer, balance it on your finger, look down it's line, whip it around in the air until it makes a swishing noise, look at it thoughtfully, and say, "This is a good fork". (Then I acted it out twice more for my mom). [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

-When you feel like you should be doing obssessive things so that you will have something to post.

-When you assemble an entire hobbit outfit, consisting of a white shirt with buttons, a green "ornamental waistcoat" (or the closest you can come to that, which is a green vest), and short, baggy brown pants. As to the ale, I was going to suggest that, but one figures, leave the ale to a dwarf or a hobbit, and bring to a party something that the elves can supply (see message icon [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] ). And yes, Beren would like to come, if that's all right. I'm not sure what he could bring, though.

Now for my contribution to our ever-growing list:

-You constantly feel as if you should further your obssession, even though you're obssessed enough as it is.

-You are taken into a jewelry store at the mall against your will. You try to make the most of it by searching for anything that looks like a Ring of Power (I was looking for the Elven Rings, in particular, but I didn't find any [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] ).

-You are also taken to Eyemasters and you sit there looking at those advertisements for color contacts that say things like "Lisa enhanced her blue eyes with our Pacific Blue contacts, blah blah blah". You notice that one of the models was named Estel. (I thought that was cool!)

-I think I'm drawing my mom into my obssession. I don't know. But she knew what I was talking about when I told her about the picture of the girl named Estel wearing brown contacts, and she seems to understand a lot of the other things I do, too. So that would definately be a sign of obssession: I'm drawing others into my obssessive vortex. Go me!

elfearz1 Shade of Carn Dûm Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Mirkwood Posts: 261	you get excited when the guy you like asks you questions about lotr. you spend your class time writing ideas for this thread...on your hand and arms you type on your calculater: in elvish, all the dialogue from the rotk trailor and people's siggies. you are late to class because you had to do your hair elvish-ish today, because TTT comes out on DVD/VHS your friend (who doesn't even like lotr) notices your hair and tells you, you look very elvish today... you take that as a great compliment.
