Time to put my foot down
If I might be permitted to take a brief proprietorial interest in this thread, would it be possible for everyone to explain why they like the signatures they've nominated? That's what I hoped for far back in the mists of time when I started this thread. Have a look at some of the earlier responses to see what was meant to happen in here.

since we started nicely asking...
Further to Squatter's request, I do nicely asks, and even do nicely begs:
Do quote signature you are posting praise of, please. Signatures tend to change, you see, and just mentioning 'I like Mr. X's sig' is not conducive enough to make me go and see Mr.X's profile for the sake of the signature only, given the chance that as likely as not the one I'll see there will not be the same as eulogized here. My gratitude in advance

Sorry - The last sig was a Rupert Brooke misquote (never occured to associate him with Dorothy Parker before!!!! ) prompted by Valentine's day bitterness .. it is from a poem called "Song" which has taken a unfortunate though maybe not wholly inappropriate slant with modern connotations to a couple of the words in the full version. The bit I used was "Oh! Love," they said, and "Love," they said, "The gift of Love is this; A crown of thorns about thy head, And vinegar to thy kiss!"---

I always thought it was "follow the sun", not "the gulls". Gulls is of course much more Tolkieny.
Among my circle of acquaintance, my liking for 'Hair' is considered as eccentric as my liking for Tolkien. Nice to know there are some others with me in this Venn diagram subset....

Unless I'm much mistaken that sig's from the Grimm story "The Juniper Tree", I've been meaning to comment on it myself...

I think you exist, but I and the Machiavellian message I just sent you could merely be figments of your imagination, so that's not saying much.
Props also to Descartes. Good choice, ye short one.

I'll add my support to Fea's as that e-mail gave me such joy when reading it. Especially when I got the end and realised I remembered/had done/did pretty much everything on it.

I was a bit depressed by it, if it's the one I think it is. I'm a child of the nineties and I recognised zilch. In that moment I realised the deep psychological and cultural consequences caused by the fact that I spent my entire childhood reading without a decent light and slowly going blind, not raving to Oasis or some similar band of gentlemen...

I am afraid it is a gem from David Brent

A darkened stage, spotlight on a podium. Dramatic fanfare of horns. Enter Celuien, dressed in a long green gown and black jacket from stage left. Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back to the First Annual Trollywood Pictures Association Awards Ceremony. Our first award in the Best Actor category has been awarded to The Saucepan Man for his brilliant performance in Tol-in-Gaurhoth XVIII. Next up is the Excellence in Advertising Award. The nominees are Hookbill the Goomba, for his work on Assigned to Mordor - The Movie; Anguirel, for recruitment of Warg fans to the Survivor audience; and Eomer of the Rohirrim, for innovation in transforming the City of Aberdeen into a giant billboard for the Barrow-Downs. All worthy nominees, but only one will take the big prize, the coveted golden Balrog. Who will it be? The envelope, please. A wet frog hops across the stage, dripping envelope in its mouth. Celuien carefully removes the message. The frog hops away. Celuien opens the envelope. And the winner is...Hookbill the Goomba! Congratulations! Hookbill runs onstage and is handed his award, a small, shiny statue in the shape of a Winged Balrog... There you go.

I think the only message my signature sends is that I have far, FAR too much time on my hands. On a side note, the first link is a clip form the opening sequence of Assigned to Mordor: The Movie.
