LORD OF THE RINGS - THE HOBBIT FEAST
DOWNTOWN, JAN 7, 10:30 AM
Peter Jackson, 2001-2003, 35mm, 12 hours, PG, $88

You’ve got to hand it to those hobbits, they sure know how to eat. As any self respecting fan can tell you, it takes a lot of fuel to drive the hobbit engine. That’s why they eat seven times a day. Exective chef John Bullington has created a seven meal feast, one for each of the different hobbit mealtimes (1st breakfast, 2nd breakfast, elevensies, etc.), spread out over the twelve hours it takes to watch the entire middle earth trilogy. Interpreted from actual meals referenced in the books, the Hobbit Feast is the ultimate Lord of the Rings sensory experience.

35 MM EXTENDED EDITIONS OF THE FIRST TWO FILMS AND THEATRICAL RELEASE VERSION OF RETURN OF THE KING WITH FOOD PAIRING AT ALL SEVEN HOBBIT EATING TIMES!

Unfortunately, this one took place already, but if my informant is correct they are holding more than one. I know that Child and Perky both currently reside in Texas, either one want to adopt me during the next showing?

Child of the 7th Age is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
Regarding that "adoption"......We live several hours from Austin so it would be a long walk!

I did get a kick out of this event and drew up more information on the internet. Only in Austin! They've apparently done this several times. For the official advertisements and the T-shirt, see this, this, this, and this. They've obviously cribbed the old Big Boy restautraunt symbol for their hobbit.

For a rhapsodic description of the seven course meal, scroll about two-thirds of the way down the page: here. You better really like mushrooms to attend this picture thingy!

zifnab has just left Hobbiton.
Is this a figment of my imagination?

Who would be dense enough to bring a six year old to a 12 hour veiwing of ... anything, and then in the middle of it, feed them some Braised Spareribs?
Most people get upset when they hear a cell phone ringing at shows. How about a six year old that doesn't have the 'vibrate' option installed?
