Tolkien Dictionary

Is there an English-Elvish dictionary anywhere on the net? Or is there someone with vast knowledge and patience to translate phrases for me? Silvan and/or Quenya.

Please dont grill me if i have said something wrong or innaccurate.

That might not have been a favourite in the old Languages forum here, but it certainly worked from time to time. If you have something you want translated (preferrably shorter of course), why not post it here... can't be worse than no replies, but I know there are people around the Downs who know their Elvish and are willing to help.

White Tree

Council of Elrond has a fairly nice one (kind of limited but oh well)

Arwen Undomiel's Sindarin and Quenya

Quenya-English dictionary

Elvish/Eglish thingy

Not sure if that one would be good or not...

And then, if you want more, try a Google search for elvish dictionaries

Good luck and cheers,
Imladris

Though it would be impossible to use Silvan since Silvan words are hardly given. I think you mean Sindarin.

Tolkien Help with a Word...

I found an elven word for "curse" one time on the internet that I loved. The first three letters were Fai or Fei or something like that and I can't for the life of me find it again...does anyone know it?

At the Counsil of Elrond site linked earlier in this thread, they give "rhach" for the noun 'curse' in Sindarin. (The 'h' after the 'r' means that the 'r' is untrilled, and the 'ch' is like in Bach.)

BTW: Welcome to the 'Downs!
