A dwarf could tell you something about this character.

This character was long dead when Bilbo found the Ring.

The type of this character was immortalized in a poem by a famous American writer.

No, not Nom.

Another clue: this character is not as obscure as the names you are coming up with. (Goodness knows I wouldn't come up with names like that as I am not that familiar with the long histories). His name appears in "The Hobbit," although he is dead by then.

Question

Thank you Anne. It took some finding.

OK, a relatively straightforward one now, in that there is only one word in words to find.

Mountain climbing is not a pursuit which should be undertaken lightly. Much preparation is required. Frequently, those seeking their thrills on hazardous mountains take the wrong kind of stuff, or go ill-prepared, and more often than not they regret it.

OK, time has elapsed so I'll have another go. There is one word to be found.

Undercover police activity has become a standard feature of the contemporary political terrain. Disclosures in recent years indicate that environmentalist, anti-nuclear and animal rights groups are likely to be targeted for surreptitious investigation. This can take many forms, from an inconspicuous stranger who turns up to help at a demonstration, to a trained "deep cover" operative who may spend many years working within an organization.

Tolkien

If you wish to follow the tradition of Tolkien's earlier writings and create a spell which makes use of objects, to find relevant words in irrelevant background waffle, you should do the following: first, take a dragon tooth and infuse it in a granite basin of ram's blood for at least a week. Next, add three drops of water collected at dawn on the Elves' New Year (yestarë), pass a raven's feather over the thing once (from the right unto the left), and with all the ebuliance that you can muster, toss cat hair into a fire that has been burning for three days, has never burned anything but the bark of birch trees. If this is all done, the correct words should appear in your mind's eye, as if by magic, so to speak.

Every day it was the same thing. To and fro, to and fro, do this, do that.

" I am tired of this!"

She lobbed her water bucket and list of chores aside. "I'm going to work for someone besides the Sackville-Bagginses! "
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only 3 words really meant to be found in that. Should be easy.

Pipe A nice easy one

Quote:
Dear Wendy

Having a great time on holiday. The sun is shining. We have spent a lot of time in the swimming pool. We took a boat ride round the coast yesterday and saw a puffin. We also went fishing and I caught a mackrel. We plan on cooking it for dinner tonight.

Today we had lunch in the café. An oriental gentleman served us. I tried the shark’s fin (*arf*) in white wine. Tomorrow I may try the shark’s fin in black bean sauce. All they seem to have on the menu is shark’s fin.

Golfing is on the agenda for tomorrow. Then, after that, we’ll see how we feel.

Ron dearly misses you.

By for now.

Silmaril Guess not

Guess you didn't make one up NK, so my turn!

If you like shopping, go to a mall. They have lots of goods and cloths and toys and junk. But if you want food, don't go to a mall. Unless it's something like subway, where you can get something to eat!But i'm talking about food to stick in your fridge! One store that i particularry like is Sav-a-Lot! Ho! If you haven't been, you have to try their fruit! It's to die for! Also, try going to it's rival, Sav-a-center, where prices are really cheap. The food quality is equal and they have a ten item or less line!

Well, have fun!

Well, I've never been good at this game, truthfully, and I don't see anything remotely LOTR related in that paragraph.
