Its originally All Your Base Are Belong To Us, which was used by gamers when their going to defeat the other team, mainly used in strategy games such as Warcraft 3...

All your base
Ah, youth. It's from an actual game, Zero Wing which is Japanese I believe, the translations of which were hysterically inaccurate. As well as including 'All your base are belong to us', the game text had such gems as 'somebody set us up the bomb".
Ah, well. Just because it's such an important slice of web history, I'll paste the relevant bit here. But to make sure I'm still suitably on topic I'll remind you that JRRT would not condone such sloppy translation! In A.D. 2101 War was beginning. Captain: What happen ? Mechanic: Somebody set up us the bomb. Operator: We get signal. Captain: What ! Operator: Main screen turn on. Captain: It's You !! Cats: How are you gentlemen !! Cats: All your base are belong to us. Cats: You are on the way to destruction. Captain: What you say !! Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time. Cats: HA HA HA HA .... Captain: Take off every 'zig' !! Captain: You know what you doing. Captain: Move 'zig'. Captain: For great justice. Belonging to us, ~R

I thought BWs avatar was Caspar, the friendly ghost.
My son used to have a poster in his room that had a picture of Einstein, in front of a blackboard on which was written 'All your base are belong to us.' I never really 'got it', but now thanks to Rimbaud, I do.

Welcome Feanor of the Peredhil to the wonderful world of "Monty Python meets The Lord of the Rings". Though I must admit I like your signature better...

Maybe, Fea, the Ghostbuster thing is not a specific clue but just a general nod to the idea of paranormal phenomena, as I said before, surreal phenomena. *Looks around cautiously to see if Mithdan's pun-wraith is near.*

lapsing into AIM speak
Omigosh, ED I loooooove yours. It's so perfect. If I had to tolerate everything, not only would I be insane, but I would be listening to my peers bash each other, listening to my students say "no", and things would just be horribly wrong.
As for mine... I love it because one of my [many] role models said it Friday afternoon. Chances are, a few of my next bunch of quotes will be from him. I must admit though... I rather like Eomer's new signature. [EDIT]: I have just run across Mithalwen's new signature which compliments Eomer's perfectly: Quote:
Fea PS: ED, due to the fact that I can so easily shorten your name to Eddy, you will now be called it. You don't mind, do you? *grin* *wink*

O the shame! I even knew I was chatting and didn't do anything about it. Apologies, I deserved that.
To try and make amends, I want to talk about Bethberry's signature. Often I have looked at it and thought about it. I don't know what she is trying to say with it but it makes me wonder. I used to have a Loch Ness Monster related signature but it was far less clever and thought-provoking. Also, I never knew how to tie it in with something that wasn't a ridiculous conspiracy-theory.

Esty beat me to it - I was just coming here to nominate lord of dor-lomin's! It's kind of like another quote I saw somewhere: "I used to be schizophrenic, but we're okay now."
And also Fea's is very amusing - though I didn't get it until just now when Evisse nominated it... |

And I also like lodl's siggy. And every time Esty has a new PDQ quote, just go ahead and consider it nominated by me. I'm actually listening to some PDQ right now- his infamous "Missa Hilarious".

"Missa Hilarious"?! Ooooh, that's one I don't yet have! Are there any good quotes in there?

Now Eomer, isn't it just like the Jabberwock to fly on someone's coattails of unchattable reputation.
Sometimes, just sometimes, there's no clever, thought-provoking meaning but just a flippant flapping of flagrant flimflam. But The Wight himself did prophesy that ye all would be flummoxed. Quote:
