Another one about family relations (should be fairly easy): Father was a wizard's friend, Brother went to sea, Poison I, my son renowned - Guess who I may be!

Sorry to disappoint you yet again, but it's not Éowyn either.
To keep you from further following the wrong track, note that it says "poison", not "poisoned".

Light or darkness? Hmmm. A brighter shade of grey, I suppose. Like most people. I don't think the person in question really bothered about such things.

S/he would never dream of doing such an indecent thing. (Indeed most likely s/he never worked at all, be it for whomsoever.)

Ha.I know it-Elanor! The flower she was named after could be poison if used improperly

Now now! That's a bit too concrete request, isn't it? I would like to keep the hints more vague, at least. And you are not the only one who is thinking about it, Urwen (even though it might seem like that to you). I think I have some good idea right now actually, but have to think. Time! I need time... (no, unlike as for Bilbo Baggins, this is not my answer )

No, it's not Elanor (see Mnemo's comment)... but that was a lot closer than anything else up to now.
As for the wizard, Legate is quite right, but being in a I generous mood today I'll tell you it was neither Alatar nor Pallando.

So casual, so obvious. You put us all into shame. I was starting to think that it was an object, but apparently...

Nerwen, you've got it! It's the Old Took's remarkable daughter, of course. Belladonna berries are poisonous; her father was a friend of Gandalf's (see The Hobbit); her brother Isengar was said to have 'gone to sea' in his youth (see LotR Appendix C); and she was Bilbo's mom - 'nuff said.
Nice guessing. Please proceed!

GO power of NAMESAKES!
And now,I'll pay ya back for all times you insulted her: My love was strong But I decided it to prolong. We had a plan to desert our clan. Fiery monster cut off my way as my kin say. I found resemblance to a thing dear,in the world so vast and I will for eternity last. Who am I?

Ok.I'll give a more subtle hint:
The speaker lasted for eternity literally, not metaphorically. He/she is never told to die. And it's NOT Maglor! Oh,and I forgot to mention that the speaker owns grey object? Hope that helps... Have at it!!!!

That's very original answer,but no.Earendil doesn't own a grey object.
Although it is connected to the Sea. Oh,and the speaker is not evil.

My love was strong But I decided it to prolong. We had a plan to desert our clan. Fiery monster cut off my way as my kin say. I found resemblance to a thing dear,in the world so vast and I will for eternity last. Grey object I owned and in song I was renowned. Who am I?

Nimrodel, then.
I thought it might be, from this line: Quote:
Also, if Nimrodel were still alive, wouldn't she have turned up eventually?

Fiery monster is Balrog of Moria.
And grey object she owned were her shoes. And I simply meant she is not reported to have died. Anyway,it is Nimrodel. Carry on...

Maedhros?
I tainted their white pride with red (Teleri ships stained with blood) but stood aside while the red turned to black (stood aside when the ships were burned) I'd have betrayed if not betrayed (he would have betrayed Morgoth at the peace meeting, only Morgoth beat him to it) My yet another betrayal was with faith repaid (not sure about this one) Sought the end but was paid in loss (the end of his vow; he lost the Silmarils) Yet none shall claim in gratitude I was lacking (he was grateful to the Valar for defeating Morgoth) My high hopes welded the children (not sure about welded, but the children could refer to Elros and Elrond) adopted and born and the beloved youngest (again, he adopted Elros and Elrond) In the darkness resigned plunged I, (he threw himself into a volcano) My high delight set ablaze to grief and despair (he won the Silmaril, but no longer had a claim to it)

Yes, it is Maedhros. Good guess, Loslote. You got the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 9th lines correct.
(4) My yet another betrayal was with faith repaid -> Fingon repaid Maedhros with faith by freeing him from the menacles (5) Sought the end but was paid in loss -> He sought to die, and asked Fingon to kill him, but was paid by the loss of a hand (6) Yet none shall claim in gratitude I was lacking -> He was grateful to Fingon despite him having cut off his hand (7) My high hopes welded the children -> The children refer to the Firstborn (Elves), the Children of Men (Men), and the children of Ainu (Dwarves) -> They were welded in an alliance against the Dark Lord (8) adopted and born and the beloved youngest -> Eru Illuvatar calls the dwarves his adopted children, while the Firstborn is his children by creation, and the beloved youngest is of course the children of Men, the Secondborn. (10) My high delight set ablaze to grief and despair -> The Silmaril burned Maedhros' hand, which drove him to grief and despair. PS.
