I was merely making Communism an example, what I've said, though it was rather vague of me, goes for all political theories. But enough of this senseless-ness, this is the Barrow Downs and we are all lovers of Lord of the Rings. Leave politics to the politicians.
Nilp I do find your signature very appealing where is it from?

Thanks, Esgal!
It's the last sentence of the prologue of Clear and Present Danger, and one of the most foreboding sentences I have ever read.
Yours sound eerily Tolkien-ish, something Bilbo might put in his song. Where's it from?

Why Nilpaurion Felagund you most certainely do not belong in the later category! Or the first for that matter

And no, I wasn't really making a point. Those are not my words - hence the quotation marks. And I'm certainly not trying to stir anything up. I simply ran across it (in a book) and it struck me as fun signature material. I'll leave unsaid my personal views on it.

Encaitare! I love it. And though I'd go for the Phantom in a heartbeat, if I was given the choice, I have to admit that the "not killing people" aspect of Raoul's personality is somewhat appealing...
Though the Phantom is more likely to bring you breakfast in bed. That's attractive in a man.

Finwe, your signature conjures many an image in my mind of a terrified person chanting that in the dark.... Muchly amusing.

Oldies but goldies...
I hope nobody minds if I bring to attention some past sigs that their owners discarded long ago...(yes, I have been prowling through the quote graveyard, late last night armed with a shovel). It was worth getting my hands dirty for I got a few good laughs. So here's what I dug up:
"If you don't name your sword, how is it supposed to come when you call it?" --- Horse Maiden of the Shire It may not be cool...Heck, it may not even be normal...But I'll stand up and admit it: I LIKE WESTLIFE! ~Apologies to all with "Good Taste"- and Americans! --- Lyra Greenleaf Lyra, actually so do I. Which is probably why I laughed insanely at this. And also I want to nominate Lyra's current signature for being intriguing and beautiful. "Behind every good man is a woman rolling her eyes" --- Sophia the Thunder Mistress "I think, therefore I thtay out of the thwimming pool." --- Elennar Starfire "If you guys throw one more shoe or one more coin, I'm just going to leave my guitar next to my amp and there's going to be massive feed back for an hour." ~ Kurt Cobain --- Anything but Arwen lol. *shakes head, sadly* Alas for such wit and talent "Disease:Tolkienitis, HS (Hobbit Strain); Symptom #34: In the middle of a onversation, subject will pause, stare at speaker for a while and say with smiling seriousness: "You have nice manners for a thief and a liar." (1/11/04) Disease:Tolkienitis, HS (Hobbit Strain); Symptom #34:Fears to go anywhere without pocket handkerchief and Second Breakfast (2/11/04) Do you have the symptoms?" --- Tinker Hope y'all enjoyed remembering these.

Well that Sig isn't really true, cause Frodo didn't feel the same after he came back from his tour to Mordor

Though I shan't believe he is... he still loved green and growing things, still loved the land. He still loved his friends... he still loved his home, but he had lost it. Lost it, perhaps, but the Shire was still in his heart. The Shire is what makes a hobbit a hobbit (those Bree-hobbits were always queer, and those Bucklanders... they barely escaped queerness, being just a river's width away from the Shire). I'll always believe that despite spiders and Smeagols and Nazgul, he remained, and will continue to remain, a hobbit. I also enjoyed Neithan's: Quote:

"[1] 2,500 [2] Here through cunning skill, the Noldorin elves [3] conceived and fashioned manifold gems, and Fëanor, lord of the Noldor, made the Silmarils, which were precious stones." Annals of Valinor [4] -- [1] The Old English purports to be from Ælfwine's translation of the Golden Book of Tavrobel. His introduction says: "Þéos gesegen waerþ ærest on bócum gesett of Pengolode þám Uþwitan of Gondoline ær þám þe héo abrocen wurde, 7 siþþan æt Sirigeones Hýþe, 7 æt Tafrobele on Toleressean (þæt is Ánetíge), æfter þám þe he eft west cóm; 7 héo wearþ þær gerædd and geþíedd of Ælfwine, þám þe ielfe Eriol genemdon." That is to say, in modern English: "These sayings were first set down in books by Pengolod the Wise of Gondolin before it was broken, and later at Sirion's Haven, and at Tavrobel in Tol Eressëa (that is Lonely Isle), after he came west again; and there they were read and translated by Ælfwine, whom the Elves named Eriol" [2] The Annals are arranged by Valian year, each of which corresponds to ten of ours. They are counted from the creation of the world and the entry of the Valar into it. Therefore in this version the Silmarils were made 25,000 years after the Creation. [3] Literally 'Nold-elves'. [4] Literally 'Year-tally of the gods' homeland' -- Just for good measure, Bethberry's first post title is mainly from Beowulf lines 4-5, although I haven't actually withheld too many mead-benches lately with a host of sheaths or otherwise. The second is from line 479: 'Very often we vow' (approximately). My title is adapted from the preface to Ælfric's transaltion of the book of Genesis: 'You ordered me that I should translate these words for you'

Imladris' signature is very beautiful (lyrics from The Cage by Sonata Arctica, wonderful song), and I think her location is also a reference to a song by Sonata (The Boy who wanted to be a real puppet). Nice to see another SA fan around!

Thanks, Guinevere. I wanted to reply to you when you mentioned it in the Proverbs thread, but forgot. I too think it's a very beautiful song, and it fits Valentine's Day very well. I too hear the melody in my head when I read the lyrics. It's such a special dedication of love.
